is there helb loans news for diploma students faculty of agriculture third years? - The Board awards loans and bursaries to students pursuing Diploma and Certificate courses in Public Universities, Colleges and Public National polytechnics in Kenya

Students pursuing Diploma and Certificate courses in Public universities, university colleges, public national polytechnics and Institutes of Technology and Technical Training institutes country-wide are eligible for this loan and bursary. Orphans, single parent students and others who come from poor backgrounds will be given priority for the loans and or bursaries. The application period is January to April every year.

HELB set to launch JENGA FUTURE Campaign at MMUST

 

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in collaboration with HELB is set to launch the JENGA FUTURE communication campaign on 22nd March 2015.

This is a financial literacy campaign that aims at sensitizing students and staff to develop a good culture in credit management, sensitize borrowers on why they should borrow from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), how to use the borrowed money and the importance of repaying the loan promptly.

The University has welcomed the campaign and showed its readiness to facilitate it by incorporating a number of its units and Divisions which include, the Directorate of Public Communications and Publishing, 103.9 MMUST FM, Peer Educators, the Chaplaincy, the Office of Dean of Students and the Students Governing Council (SGC). The initial launch will be on the opening day of 2015 Tamasha week while the main event is slated for Thursday 1st October 2015 during which a mass number of students will be targeted.

The JENGA FUTURE Communication Campaign Team visited the MMUST Main Campus University on Tuesday 3rd March 2015. Speaking during the meeting with members of the University, Mrs. Alice Ayonga from Loan Recovery and Payment Department, Higher Education Loans Board, noted that there is need to inform students and staff on the importance of managing and repaying the educations loan in time and in full.

“We want to sensitize both staff and students on proper ways of using the loan, why they should borrow and how important it is when they repay the loan promptly,” she said.

The JENGA FUTURE communication campaign is a partnered programme of three organizations: HELB, Association of Kenya Credit Providers and Maisha EDU.
