Deputy Director, Nairobi CBD Campus (October, 2012-Date)

As a deputy director, I am also an acting Director of the campus when the substantive director is out. This is a policy level and a senior management level within a university. I directly coordinate 2 Associate chairpersons and 7 academic staffs and 23 subordinate and ancillary staff. Assist in campus strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Deal with both academic and general administration of students. Deal with financial management and planning at faculty level. Assist in campus level procurement planning and management. Coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate thesis supervision, and management, in charge with staff welfare issues. Attending deans committee meeting and Board of Post graduate Studies meeting, member of University senate.

Associate Chairman
Entrepreneurship and Procurement Department (Nairobi CBD Campus) (2011 to September, 2012)
•    As a pioneer Associate Chairman of Entrepreneurship and Procurement department, I established a new department and put in place operational structures successfully, admitted students to over 10 programmes running from undergraduate to PhD level.

•    The department had over 1450 students, 4 PhD holders and 1 PhD candidate academic staff and 5 subordinate staffs and all under direct administration of the chairman. Dr. Wario conducts a simple analysis of the profitability and entrepreneurial feasibility of various programmes, perform market forecast and client networking and mapping.

•    As a chairman, I was in charge of the department’s budget and various financial plans and management that will also assist the campus in financial planning for the year. As a chairman, I also come up with the annual procurement plan for the department thus giving adequate experience on financial and procurement planning and management.

•    As a chair of the department, I was responsible for the recruitment of the teaching and non-teaching staff depending on the departments staffing needs.

•    Other duties and achievements include:

This is an NGO funded through the initiative and contribution of six individuals where the funds are used to pay fees for bright and needy students in the areas of operations. The main objective of the organization is to create an avenue to improve the education standard of the marginalized poor in the Northern Frontier Districts and as a way to get back to the society.

PhD resource person for the Entrepreneurship programme; taught advanced Research and developed doctoral proposal for 29 students.

Fountain Enterprise Programme – FEP Group (September, 2012 – to date)
Conducted HR audit to establish the status of HR services and administration for the group; performing strategy and policy analysis and evaluation of the organizational structure; Conducted a pay survey and came up with a remuneration plan for the group, detailed evaluation of job, job analysis and job specification and crafting job description for each position created, instituting a resourcing plan and carry out recruitment and selection and placement. Recommend appropriate performance management system and reward regime for the company. Designed SWEAT equity.

Kenyatta International Conference Centre Corporation (KICC) (June-August, 2012)
Lead consultant, conducted an employee safety, health and welfare status and came up with work environment index for the KICC workplace environment.

Developed a curriculum for National training of SMEs for the purpose of Jitihada (2) National Business Plan Competition. JITIHADA is the brand name for the Kenya National
Business Plan Competition, which was launched in 2009. It is a subcomponent of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) competitiveness project, a World Bank funded initiative under the Ministry of Industrialization. The primary objective of the project is to increase productivity and employment in the MSME sector in Kenya. The Second
Phase of Jitihada (JITITADA II) is running from July 2011 to June 2012. JITIHADA II lays emphasis on value addition in the MSME.

This created a clear understanding of the organization’s direction, its strengths and weaknesses, and the internal and external factors that influence current and future labour demand and supply. Carried out a business research assignment on Analysis of value chain in local small scale mango business in Kenya (Malindi), the study focused on a value chain analysis geared towards identifying the various, processes, inputs and major players in the mango value chain system.
