1.    COMMENCEMENT DATES – 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students (Module I) that the commencement dates for the 2015/2016 academic year are as follows:

A -      MONDAY, 5TH JANUARY, 2015

(i)    1st years (2013 K.C.S.E.) in the Faculty of Arts, Schools of Business, Law, Economics and I.A.G.A.S.


B -    MONDAY, 12TH JANUARY, 2015


(i)    All 2nd years (2012 K.C.S.E.) except College of Humanities and Social Sciences

(ii)    All continuing 3rd year (2010 K.C.S.E.) in the Faculty of Arts, Schools of Business, Law, Economics and I.A.G.A.S. to commence first semester.


    C -    MONDAY, 27TH APRIL, 2015

(i)    All 2nd years (2012 K.C.S.E.) in the Faculty of Arts, Schools of Business, Law, Economics and I.A.G.A.S.

(ii)    All 3rd years (2011 K.C.S.E.)


    2.    TUITION FEES

(i)    ALL MODULE I STUDENTS shall each pay tuition Fees of Kshs. 16,000 per year, before or on the registration day, made up as follows:


a)    Kshs. 8,000 direct charge for which needy students may apply for a Bursary from Higher Education Loans Board (H.E.L.B.).

b)    Kshs. 8000 for which one may pay direct or apply for a loan from Higher Education Loans Board (H.E.L.B.).


3.    OTHER ADDITIONAL RELATED EXPESES

   
        Examination fees            -    3000/- p.a.
        Medical fees                -    2000/- p.a.
        Activity fees                -    1000/- p.a.
        Computer Laboratory    Fees        -    3000/- p.a.
        Students ID. Card            -      500/- p.a.
        Students Union Fees            -      500/- p.a.
                                     10,000/-


4.    BANK ACCOUNTS WHERE STUDENTS WILL DEPOSIT FEES

* SELF-SPONSORED (MODULE II) STUDENTS:

Fees to be paid through a Bankers cheque in favour of University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services (UNES) LTD or Directly deposit of Cash in the : UNES /UON Collection Account at - Barclays Bank of Kenya, Westlands Branch, Nairobi account number 03-073-1021554.

Students should fill in Bank paying-in slips fully identifying themselves by showing their names and reference numbers, and amounts paid.  The original deposit slip should be presented to University officials on registration.


5.    ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

For those students who wish to use the accommodation facilities in the University’s Halls of Residence, they should apply online.

6.    BOOKS

Students are advised to apply for a loan from Higher Education Loans Board if they need it, for up to a maximum of Kshs. 9,000 in respect of books and stationery.

7.    All students are informed that all fees and other charges are payable at the commencement of the semester they are due.  No student shall be allowed into lectures, examinations or participate in activities which have not been fully paid for.
